Why you should service your HVAC system regularly

I just recently attended an HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) inspection for one of my buyer-clients. While talking to the technician about everything HVAC, he filled me in on the EPA regulations on Freon that went into effect in January.

Freon 22 is probably the coolant in use in your HVAC system. Well, it just so happens that this type of coolant is damaging to the atmosphere and is being phased out over time. Here’s the kicker: the newer, more improved, coolant isn’t compatible with your equipment. So in the future, if coolant needs to be replaced, you may need to do a major (and potentially expensive) overhaul.

Now may be a great time to have a technician over to check on your system. If you keep it in good repair by having regular maintenance done, it will go a long way to keeping it running in tip top condition and you can push back the time when expensive repairs become necessary.
